Em wants me to start making dinner salads so this was attempt #2. It was not nearly as successful as attempt #1. The flavors were bad and the texture was worse. While that was unfortunate, we at least have our very first non-keeper since the creation of this blog. The consecutive keeper posts were starting to give the very false impression that we do not make crappy dishes fairly often…

Difficulty 4 / 10 – Takes a decent number of steps, especially when you make your own dressing, but it is really fast and pretty easy
Time to Complete ~45 minutes (once I get awesome at chopping things, it will be closer to the promised 30 minutes)
Sides Served None
Leftovers? Yea, but we had no interest in them
Lessons Learned Putting warm items (in this case, onions and peppers coated in dressing/sauce) on top of cold arugula turns the arugula into a hot side dish, not a salad. This seems obvious – maybe I was supposed to let the stuff cool down, but I don’t think so.
Any Recipe Deviations? Nope
Make Again? Nope – the flavors were ok at best. The red onions are overpowering in the salad. The mustardy dressing was not great. And the texture was too weird
Changes Next Time? No next time…
